Family History

Very time consuming!!

I have been busy, apparently since 1999 my computer tells me, creating my family tree.  I now have over 500 people saved in this programme.  I have uploaded it to 2 sites. Tribal pages and Genes Reunited. These can be accessed easily on www.horrobin.tribalpages.com & www.genesreunited.com

The exciting bit is when people contact you with HOT MATCHES - this means you can add squillions of people to your tree that someone else has done all the work to find! This, although wonderful, is a bit lacking in satisfaction.  It is the hunt and the detective work that gives me the buzz!

I am now in regular contact with 2 individuals from different branches of my tree and I am getting lots of info to add in to my research.

Marion Devoy, of course, has helped a great deal with her sleuthing skills in identifying the right people to follow up and I now have a few correct birth and marriage certificates that have taken me back more generations.  I am still having trouble researching my father's side - the HORROBINS!  They are proving very elusive.  There are so many James Alfreds starting with my Grandfather, but at last with my Great-Great-Great Grandfather I have at last come accross a William to research now!
