From June 1956 to June 1957 I took post graduate training at Bevendean, having obtained my SRN at the Brighton General in 1955, for my British Tuberculosis Nursing Certificate. I have many happy memories of that time and could not agree more that nursing training now is really not in patients interest, the nurses have no real pride in any particular hospital as we did because we spent our training years at one hospital and felt very strongly about how important it was to us. For lots of information about the Brighton General try www.communigate.co.uk/sussex/brightongeneralsrn

I noted the differences between the last two of the above photographs the first of which showed the playing field and allotments behind, under cultivation. Was the first picture take from the air around war time? Even if it was not, it is still a remarkable coincidence that the two pictures were both taken from almost from exactly the same place.
