Weald and Downland Open Air Museum

A "Bygones" Day Out on 15th July 2009

By Keith Chambers

Whilst the Weald and Downland Museum has wonderful parkland and livestock its main and unique feature is that it rescues old buildings.

All of the buildings shown here were due for demolition. They were taken down brick by brick and transported and rebuilt into this wonderful parkland setting. Most of the buildings can be entered and in some you can find demonstrations taking place.

Unfortunately not enough time was available to see the whole site but maybe I can bring you further photos after a second trip.

I must stress that this is only a small selection of photographs of what is to be seen. If you have not already been there then try it.

A thoroughly recommended day out.
