I was a boarder at St Hilary House. We darned our socks and hairwashes etc on Sat morning. I remember the times when we had to run for a about a mile up the front in airtex shorts and shirts in all weather, that I felt was quite a penance. It was quite a strict school in 1948 upwards, but taught us to be independent.
